LIIAR OF THE BRIEF

LIIAR Analysis of Brief

Language- The Front Cover of a magazine needs to include many features, such as:
Masthead- Basically the title of the magazine. Usually at the head of the page, and presented as a large, dominant icon to be noticed.
Main Image- The picture is going to be of an MCU image (Medium Close Up) which should be of head and shoulders only of my model. The subject’s face will be clearly seen and make eye contact with the magazine audience.
Colour Scheme- Bright with a consistency of mainly 2 or 3 colours.
Thumbnail images that illustrate other articles.

Institution- The magazine is produced for Wyke College by a Wyke student their self, for the students at the college.  Many other colleges/schools have their own magazines also. It also provides a student’s outlook (Point of View) on College life, and an authentic one at that.
Ideology- The ideology of my magazine is to get across that at the specific college you will have a good education in the courses and therefore be a better student and the outcome of going to the college will leave you with good grades to go to university or other future plans for your career. It should appeal to the target audience as the main aim is to do well in A-Levels, and advertising this college with a good outcome should provide the right needs. It is also an aim to show how you can improve your social skills (meeting new people etc.),but also can get a good balance on social life and education and also  maybe work, and also include an insight on previous students who have successfully gone on to higher education.
Target Audience- The Target audience for the magazine will be Wyke College Students, some of the staff may perhaps also read the magazine, or students parents if they take the magazine home.
Representation- A main stereotypical representation of a student is ‘lazy’ and other such words related, but my aim in this College magazine is to focus on the positivity of the college students and break through that stereotypical barrier and show how successful students at the college are. I want the college to promote the image that students take advantage of their good education, and show how intelligent they are and are successful enough to move on to higher education such as university, previously having a good balance between education, social life and work.
